This is another first! I blogged about what happened to me during my flood experience in Espana last July. This time, I was stranded from work.

Around 10:30AM, I decided to go home from work in Makati. I took the MRT since it’s raining too hard. Initially, I thanked Ayala Malls and SM for linking their malls to the MRT making it hassle-free. But unfortunately, when I was at the MRT Cubao Station and about to cross the Farmer’s Mall to Gateway Mall to go to LRT2, we were told that the mall was closed. Araneta Center is already in flood.

I took the other way. Back to MRT, I headed to Taft Station to cross MetroPoint Mall then to LRT1 EDSA Station. Carriedo Station is also in flood so I don’t have any choice but to buy cheap slippers for me and walk.Manila Flood

In fairness, I’m still lucky compared to those who got stranded in the Metro Manila streets. While I was at the MRT, I saw what happened to other commuters. Flood was as high as buses! Without any exaggeration, that was the first time that I saw cars and PUVs being soaked in flood that way. Deep inside, I was thanking MRT and LRT for the advantage of the transportation. This is the only way where you can travel in the metro in times like these.
