As a Writer

Fjordan G. Allego got his heart in writing, initially to Tagalog poetry, when he was in Trinitas College High School as member of the elective class of Creative Writing in Filipino batch 2001 and 2002. Upon entering college in 2004 at the Technological Institute of the Philippines – Manila, he successfully passed the Competitive Examinations (ComX) for TIP Voice, the official school and student publication. He served as the publication’s writer for two years and in 2006, he was promoted as the Filipino Editor. In 2007, he became part of the College Editors’ Guild of the Philippines – National Capital Region (CEGP-NCR). Today, he is a freelance writer for online web contents and is a true-blooded blogger since 2005.

As a Blogger

Though back in high school he imagined having his own website for his write ups compilation, it was only in 2005 that he was able to encounter blogging. He started with Friendster Blog, the blog platform of the then popular social network site in the Philippines. He also cross-posted his entries to other blog platforms to accommodate his readers who are mostly under his circle of friends. He utilized the blog platforms of Multiply and Yahoo! 360. With the introduction of mobile blogging in 2006, he tried G-Blogs – Globe Telecom’s blog feature.

Later in 2006, he moved all his blog archives to Blogger.com under the blog title ‘Hiraya: Endless Journey’ – the very same title he used on his previous blogs. It has it’s tag line ‘Dare to Dream’ which came from his personal statement for his daily struggles.

In 2008, after meeting up with fellow bloggers, he attended numerous blog events ranging from conferences, press releases, commercial endorsements to political, entertainment and educational events.

In August 2009, he got his own domain and hosting from a blog contest leading to the birth of today’s Hiraya.net. It’s current tag line ‘The Blog for All Seasons’ pictures the blog’s past experiences through the author’s different life seasons.

As a Student

He’s one of the consistent top students in his class in elementary (Angelus Montessori and St. Therese School) and in High School (Trinitas College and The Immaculate Mother Academy, Inc.). In college, he placed in top 20’s during the TIP’s scholarship examinations for Sec. Guillermo De Vega and Gov. Demetrio Quirino, Sr. scholarship grants. He was a TIP Voice scholar ’til 4th year in college. His remaining semesters were partly shouldered under Convergys Philippines Services Inc.’s Student Assistance Program. He was also one of the 2007 Top 10 TIP-Manila Finalists for Ayala Young Leaders’ Congress.

As a Christian Servant and Leader

He joined the CFC Youth for Christ Youth Camp in December 2005 in Antipolo under the joint YFC Campus Based program of TIP Manila and Far Eastern University.

In 2006, he became the Assistant Vice President (AVP) for Documentation for YFC TIP Manila. He also served as a volunteer for YFC Communications (YCom) in West B area. He became one of the editorial staff of Declare, YCom West B’s official newsletter in the same year.

Also in 2006, he attended the youth service for Youth on Fire of Victory Christian Fellowship in Victory St. Thomas Square Espana, Manila.

In 2007, he became the Executive Vice President (EVP) of YFC TIP Manila. The following year, 2008, he served as the YFC and TIP Gawad Kalinga’s Campus President.

In December 2009, he attended the Christian Life Program (CLP) of CFC Singles for Christ (SFC) under West B1-A area.

As a Young Professional

He started his career in the customer service field back in March 2006. He was a Dell Customer Associates Group (CAG)’s agent in Telus Ortigas (formerly Ambergris Solutions).

Today, he is a Data Collections Interviewer for Global Consulting Services (formerly Customer Intelligence Services) under Convergys Philippines Services Inc. in Makati City.

As a Simple yet Complicated Person

He is a self-confessed broken-hearted and is emotionally unstable. He always got a hard time preparing himself for any serious commitments both personally and professionally.

Due to his short-tempered, hot-headed and impatient characteristics, he often find himself ranting and raving about life’s unfair system. His radical mentality mixed with the previous characteristics make up his ‘Reklamador’ personality.

He loves day dreaming. He dreams to be a celebrity – a commercial model, TV host, dj or radio commentator, or a news anchor/reporter/broadcaster/journalist maybe. Obviously, he loves to talk.

He’s always not satisfied with everything in him and is super demanding. He’s always searching and looking for more. He’s always craving for something. Thus, he’s always disappointed. But, he’s not perfectionist as he claims.

He undoubtedly loves adventures. Though he really doesn’t like the feeling of being helpless, he always wanted to push himself to his limits. Thus, he’s always tired and stressed.

He loves music but doesn’t know how to play any single musical instrument. He was not even blessed with a good voice. A frustrated singer/musician he is, he still finds himself in love with all the notes, rhythms and lyrics.

He loves to be with the people that he likes. But, if they’re not around, he prefers to be with those who likes to be with him.

He is known as Tata in his family, neighbors and kababata’s; Fjong in his YFC circle of friends; George in his US respondents at work; and Fjordz for all others. Nevertheless, he’ll always be Fjordan in all his legal documents (except on his Baptismal Certificate where he was named Fjordan Jose).

He is as unique as his names and as extreme as his likes and interests.

Like everyone else, he wants to be a successful man someday. He just wants to be remembered as someone who have achieved a lot in various fields. He wants to explore every little thing that interests him. Thus, he had experienced how it is to be a winner and a loser.
