I never really thought that Typhoon Ondoy will bring such a big disaster to Metro Manila and nearby areas. As of now, national broadcasting organizations such as of ABS-CBN and GMA Network reported the casualties in the metro.

Outside Metro Manila, Antipolo, Cainta, Bulacan and Pampanga suffered the same fate as most areas were flooded. This is the first time, according to PAGASA, that the country experienced the volume of rainfall after 100 years.

Early this morning, I decided to go back to Bulacan after being stranded in Manila last night. Since LRT is fully operational, I was able to make it to the terminal in Monumento. Traffic is normal in the Balintawak and NLEX area so everything went smoothly.

Back to Marilao, Bulacan, I saw the traces of the flash flood yesterday in our subdivision – Heritage Homes MetroGate Meycauayan II – particularly Phases I, II and III. Thanks to God we’re residing in Phase IV so we’re not affected.

I happened to pass by at Phase I and II, and saw how devastated the areas were. Then I saw other areas affected being broadcasted on TV.

I know we were lucky to survive in Typhoon Ondoy. I just pray that all those who are affected will get the reliefs they needed.

I hope we could help them in our little ways by donating to LGU’s and NGO’s. ABS-CBN and GMA Network are also extending their office to be of service. We can contact them for any help we could offer. Let’s relive the Filipino spirit of Bayanihan.
