TIPQC Rally

Around noon time kanina, I bumped into our campus’s main entrance and was surprised seeing some students, around 20 of them, with placards. They’re conducting a rally against the school’s impending tuition fee increase. I was really surprised with this mini-rally which was obviously backed by Kabataan Partylist and Anakbayan.  It was the first time I encounter a rally held in our campus. TIP is such a super sensitive campus when it comes to these kinds of radical activities.

Seeing these students remind me of my rally experience back in 2008 with the same group. It was also the reason why I was tagged as a radical student in TIP Manila which led to my disqualification as an EIC for TIP Voice, our school publication. That’s past yet the memories are still fresh. Hindi ko pa rin nalilimutan yung mga mukha ng mga taong naging dahilan kung bakit nagulo yung college life ko.

While the students-rallyists kept on screaming about the education issues, some are also giving out leaflets about Kabataan Partylist. I wasn’t able to get one but I noticed that our school guards are taking all copies of these leaflets from students who got a copy of it. I even heard a student asking why they’re grabbing these copies. The guards just replied saying, ‘bigay niyo na lang samin kesa naman mapagbintangan kayo.’

The policy about eradicating radical thinking and activities are still being implemented in TIP even here in the Quezon City campus. I wonder what will TIP do to those who participated in the rally and to those who are still radical yet indirectly related with the activity happened earlier? Ma-postpone  na naman kaya ang graduation ko?

    Hala, fjordz! may naalala din ako. :| kakagulat nman balitang to. . . pero nakakacurious kung sinong taga TIP ang nsa kabataan partylist naun.

    Para sken okay lng mag-increase, alam kong bias kasi ggraduate na ako sa April. hehe.
    Hindi ba nila nakikita na ang daming improvements sa both campus. hmmm.. pero syempre iba-iba pdin tayo ng opinyon.

    ganun talaga ang mga private colleges and universities, lalo na sa Pilipinas. ang primary aim nila ay kumita ng malaki, hindi para bigyan ng quality education ang mga kabataan. kaya kahit anong measure para takutin ang mga estudyante, gagawin nila. malakas kasing human emotion ang fear.

    besides, ano ang use ng “improvements” kung na-limit naman ang access ng mga kabataan sa mga “improvements” na yun (dahil hindi lahat makabayad ng mataas na tuition).

    may isang saying nga, “there can be no masters if there are no slaves”. or in other words, hindi makakapang-hari ang mga admin kung hindi papayagan ng mga estudyante.

    @tin,

    well, may kanya-kanya naman talaga tayong opinyon saka hindi ko rin naman masasabing walang improvements sa school natin eh.. ang sa akin lang, bakit kailangan ipagbawal ang pagiging radikal sa campus? hawak ba nila ang utak ng mga estudyante? at magpapahawak ba tayo sa kanila ng ganun ganun lang?

    hindi na ako magtataka kung one of these days eh may tatawag na naman sa akin o pupunta sa room para magpaliwanag dahil sa mga pinagsusulat ko dito.

    @anton,

    tama ka! kaya nga dapat eh lumalaban din ang mga estudyante. ang problema, hindi sila makalaban kasi BAWAL! at kapag nagpumilit pa sila, masisira lang ang career nila sa loob ng campus dahil sa mga desisyon ng mga taga admin.

    if enough students/people resist, nagiging powerless ang powers-that-be. tulad ng EDSA, di ba?

    siya nga pala, promote mo naman dito sa blog mo ang blog action day bukas: http://kabataanpartylist.com/files/2010/02/badfeb25-button-copy2.jpg

    participate ka rin ah? thanks

    nakakalungkot naman, ganyan pa rin pala sa tip. naalala ko may ka-batch akong scholar dati tapos binagsak siya sa rotc at ang isa sa tinitingnan naming rason dahil sumali siya sa isa sa mga rallies sa tapat ng school. nakita pa niya mismo na nagkaron ng video ang admin kaya kitang kitang isa siya don sa mga kasali.

    malakas ang loob ng admin na magpower trip sa mga estudyante nila kasi alam nilang maraming takot sa kanila.
